About Margaret

I’m a communications advisor who partners with leaders to find clarity in times of transition. I help organizations tell the story of who they are, what they do, and why it matters—so their people feel connected, engaged, and aligned.

Biography

As proud as I am of my career — the degrees I’ve earned, the positions I’ve held, and the extraordinary opportunities I’ve had — that’s not really who I am.

Don’t get me wrong. Those things matter. (After all, you want to make sure your dentist actually went to dental school.) So yes, I’ve listed a few highlights below. But if you really want to understand who I am, how I work, and — maybe most importantly — how I can help you, you won’t find it in my résumé.

You need to know what I believe — deep in my bones.

So here goes…

I believe that effective communication is about so much more than delivering a crisp message. It’s about creating an environment where people feel seen, heard, and valued. I help individuals and organizations take complex ideas and turn them into stories that aren’t just understood — they’re felt.

When we communicate with purpose and passion, we can bridge divides, spark change, and bring people together in powerful, unexpected ways.

Someone once asked me to describe a time when I was in “flow” — that state where time stands still because you’re so energized and connected to your work. For me, that happens every time I get to help an individual or a company communicate in a more human, humane and impactful way.

Every. Single. Time.

Now, for the important (but slightly less exciting) stuff:

As the firm’s principal, I’ve worked with local, national, and international organizations — from Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to universities and nonprofits — providing strategic communications counsel, crisis communication planning, messaging development, and media strategy.

I specialize in distilling complex, nuanced topics into clear and compelling narratives that align with an organization’s broader goals. I work closely with executive teams and leadership to ensure that every message resonates both internally and externally.

Before founding my own firm, I served for more than a decade as spokesperson and press secretary for then-Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. In that role, I handled thousands of press inquiries and worked with reporters, editors, producers, and bookers across the country. I developed and executed Senator Biden’s media strategies, advised him on press opportunities, and prepared materials for interviews, television appearances, and public events.

My experience at both the federal and state levels has proven invaluable to clients navigating everything from internal communications and crisis response to political policy and media relations.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and a Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
